Meet Our Recruiter
About the Role
Candidate Consultant
Basingstoke - Hybrid
Full time
Hours – 8:30am to 5:30pm (1 hour lunch) / US hours may differ
About Us:
We’re middle, a small, independent tech recruitment business based in Basingstoke, Hampshire. It’s been just me (Cal) and Marley (the office pup) for nearly two years, and we’ve loved growing the business to where it is today. Now, we’re ready to bring great people on the journey.
From day one, we made a deliberate choice not to hire too soon. We wanted to build a proper foundation first, a strong client base, clear workflows, and a delivery process that works.
That means when you join, you’re not walking into chaos. You’re stepping into something with real momentum and the chance to help take it to the next level.
The Role:
As our first hire, you’ll be joining us at the ground level, helping us shape the delivery side of the business while Cal handles client onboarding. We’re looking for someone with a passion for recruitment, knowledge of the Tech industry, and a love for helping people find their next career step. Ideal for someone who has been in a 360 role but isn’t a fan of business development or struggles to juggle the many hats of a 360 recruiter, but still loves recruitment.
You’ll be our first hire and the first candidate consultant, focusing on sourcing, screening, and placing top talent with our clients across the UK and US. As we grow, you’ll help us build processes, systems, and playbooks that make recruitment a breeze.
What You’ll Do:
- Source, screen, and place candidates for our clients across the UK and the US
- Manage candidate relationships – check-ins, offers, post-placement follow-ups and everything in between
- Help build the delivery side of the business by refining processes, systems and playbooks
- Collaborate with Cal to map out new clients
- Log activity and track data through the CRM
- Schedule interviews, follow-ups, and check-ins
- Support with general administration tasks
- Qualify Tech professionals based on each client's search requirements
- Proactively build candidate relationships and shortlists.
Who we’re after:
- Someone who values integrity
- Ideally, with experience in tech recruitment or an understanding of tech roles
- Have to feel comfortable working in an early-stage business
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- A self-starter with a “get stuff done” attitude
- Someone who doesn’t need/want to be micro-managed
- Knowledge of basic employment laws
- Must have strong organisation skills
- Must love dogs (Marley is often in the office!).
Perks & Benefits:
- Commission on every placement you make
- Quarterly and annual bonus
- Hybrid working + flexible working
- Opportunity to help build our ops, sales and delivery
- 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays + Birthday off
- Onsite Gym
- Hardware and a modern tech stack
- Parking (or a short walk to the train station)
- Global searches across the UK & US.
